01 — Our Story

Nearly six decades of craft

Our roots began as a professional lab providing services to portrait and wedding photographers. Over the decades, we expanded into high-end amateur, commercial imaging, digital services and fine art — always as an industry leader, while never forgetting our traditional roots.

Today, ABC Photo supports photographers producing award-winning work and artists exhibiting internationally. Our hybrid approach bridges the traditional darkroom with the latest digital technology.

1966

Opening of our first location at 1961 West 4th Avenue, Vancouver, as a professional lab catering to portrait and wedding photographers.

1975

Moved to 2018 West 4th Avenue. Added high-end amateur services.

1984

Opened our first satellite location at 6970 No. 3 Road, Richmond.

1986

Moved to 1618 West 4th Avenue and added the Commercial Imaging Department.

1989

Opened our second satellite location at 10214–152 Street, Surrey.

1992

Added the Digital Imaging Department.

2003

Added the Kodak ProShots System and became the first Kodak ProShots Lab in Western Canada.

2011

Moved to 472 West 15th Avenue and changed our name from ABC Photocolour Products Ltd. to ABC Photo Ltd.
