File Preparation
When preparing your digital images for LightJet Printing there are three different workflows:
- Raster Graphics
- an image composed of pixels created in programs such as Adobe Photoshop, PaintShop Pro, and Corel PhotoPaint.
- Vector Graphics
- an image that is resolution independent drawn mathematically in the computer created in programs such as Adobe Illustrator or Macromedia Freehand.
- Raster-Vector Graphics
- a combination of raster and vector graphics combined to form a layout created in programs such as Quark XPress, Adobe InDesign and Adobe PageMaker.
When sending files following the raster graphics workflow:
- Files can only be either TIFF or JPEG, as we do not support camera raw files
- TIFF files can contain no Adobe Photoshop layers or channels.
- JPEG files are recommended to be saved at maximum quality, i.e. 10 – 12.
- Images for output should have a minimum of 150 ppi at final size for optimum image quality.
- All images must be in an RGB colour space with the appropriate ICC profile tagged.
- All images must be be 8-bit colour.
- File names should be kept to under 30 characters saved with the appropriate extension .jpg or .tif.
When sending files following the vector graphics workflow:
- Convert all text to outlines or include all fonts with your job.
- Set colour fills to proper Pantone process colours and do not use spot colours
- As all colours output differently on different media, for clients seeking colour accuracy we recommend coming into our main location to select the Pantone colour from our Pantone colour charts output on our wide range of media.

- Link your raster images rather than embedding within the document so that we can accurately colour manage your images.
- Convert all text to outlines or include all fonts with your job.
- Select pantone coated colours referring for all fills in your vector elements
